Job Description & Skills Required
The Workshop Engineer is responsible for erecting, installing, and repairing electrical and mechanical plant and industrial machinery. This includes fitting and assembling parts and sub-assemblies in the manufacture of metal products, as well as testing and adjusting new motor vehicles and engines.
Tasks required by this job include:
- Examining drawings and specifications to determine appropriate methods and sequence of operations.
- Fitting and assembling parts and/or metal sub-assemblies to fine tolerances to make marine engines, prototype metal products, agricultural machinery, and machine tools.
- Fitting and assembling prepared parts and sub-assemblies to make motor vehicles, printing and agricultural machinery, and other metal goods.
- Examining operation of, and making adjustments to, internal combustion engines and motor vehicles.
- Erecting, installing, repairing, and servicing plant machinery and industrial equipment, including construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and other heavy-duty equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance for our range of products.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Competent in following electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams to diagnose faults.
- Competent in welding and fabrication.
- Computer literate.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Portuguese.
