Job Description

An experienced Mechanic is sought for a Full-time, Permanent position at the AA's Service, Maintenance and Repair Centre in Limerick, to carry out repairs, maintenance and service work on customer cars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on customer cars in accordance with AA and manufacturer procedures.
  • Inspect, assess and diagnose vehicle issues, compiling a parts list and labour pricing for ordering and purchasing.
  • Record all repair and maintenance activities, and details of parts used and job times, accurately via jobcard/DMS/eVHC.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and security of the workshop premises, equipment and vehicles.
  • Monitor garage stocks, particularly tools and spare parts, and notify staff when ordering is required.
  • Answer queries regarding garage activities in liaison with staff.
  • Effect roadside repairs and recover vehicles as directed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed by the Service Manager.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Qualified Motor Mechanic.
  • Motor Mechanics apprenticeship or QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft certificate.
  • Time served as a motor mechanic.
  • Solid practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical workings of motor vehicles.
  • Current driving license and ability to make clear written statements.

Pay: Up to €51,750.00 per year. Yearly bonus. Schedule: Monday to Friday. Licence/Certification: B Driving Licence (required), Fully qualified mechanic certification (required). Work Location: In person.
